Hello Gary, we know that mac is very particular about privacy and sensitive data. I’m assuming any recent upgrades might have turned off the sound permission to third-party apps.

Anyway, did you tried changing the sound settings within the Google Chrome browser on your host (Mac)? I’d suggest turning on the sound permission and Enable the switch. Also, please consider checking sound settings within Mac preferences.

just to clarify my prior comment,… i am using chrome remote desktop and the audio is not coming through no matter which device or system i use to connect to my remote Mac. No audio from the mac when connected via iphone, chromebook and PC

when running a remote desktop to access a Mac I no longer get ANY audio sent from the Mac. This used to work so i was wondering, and hoping that you know of a solution or workaround for this issue

Following above mentioned steps and setting up Chrome Remote Desktop For Android is good. Additionally, you can also have a look at apps like R-HUB remote support servers for remotely accessing computers from any devices. It works on all platforms viz Windows, MAC, Android, iOS etc.
